Lexar Expands JumpDrive Line

LAS VEGAS, NV -- Lexar extended its line of JumpDrives USB 2.0 flash drives at CES today with the JumpDrive Expression and JumpDrive Lightning.

The JumpDrive Expression, shipping in February, comes with three different colored "mood bands" available in a range of hues including Pistachio, Orange, and Periwinkle. Users can easily switch out the band to suit their own personality and style; the mood band wraps around the drive to form a durable protective cover that secures the USB cap to the drive so it wonit be lost or misplaced. The JumpDrive Expression will be available in 256MB ($49.99), 512MB ($69.99), and 1GB ($99.99 capacities).

The JumpDrive Lightning is Lexaris newest and fastest JumpDrive, sporting capacities up to 2GB and a sustsained 120x write speed rating (about 18MB/sec) and 160x read speed (about 24MB/sec). The JumpDrive Lightning features a distinctive stainless steel casing and will also ship in February. Pricing for the 2GB version will be $279.99; pricing for the 512MB and 1GB models is uknown at this point.

Lexaris Web site has yet to be updated with information on either product.
