The laser mouse also includes what Logitech calls the Plug-and-Forget Nano-receiver, a 2.4GHz USB transceiver that protrudes only 8 millimeters and can be left in the USB port when transporting your laptop.

Battery life is rated at up to 18 months with two AA batteries, and is the only cordless mouse Logitech offers with that lifespan.

The V500 Nano requires Mac OS X 10.3 or higher and is priced at US$59.99. Logitech plans to ship the portable mouse in late August.
