LaCie announced the immediate availability of its new FA Porsche-designed 500GB hard drive on Tuesday. The drive includes a USB 2.0 interface, 1-Click backup software, SilverKeeper backup software, and cables. It is priced at US$249, and a FireWire version will be available in October for $279.

LaCie also dropped the prices on its other FA Porsche-designed USB and FireWire drives. The 160GB model is now $99 with USB, and $119 for FireWire, the 250GB model is $129 and $139, and the 320GB model is $159 and $189.
