M-Audio Ships Conectiv & Torq DJ Solutions

· by · News

M-Audio announced Tuesday the shipment of the Conectiv 4 x 4 USB DJ audio interface, and Torq DJ production software for Mac OS X and Windows. Conectiv allows DJs to connect a turntable or other audio gear to a Mac or PC, and Torq is a mixing and production software package specifically intended to work with Conectiv.

Conectiv features two pairs of switchable line/phono RCA inputs for direct connection of turntables or CD players, two pairs of RCA line-level outputs, a 1⁄4" mic input, and a headphone output with cue capabilities. Conectiv offers a maximum output level of +2dBV -- which the company said is the same output level as other DJ gear like CD players. M-Audio also claimed that this, "represents the loudest output of any bus-powered audio interface."

Torq ships with Conectiv, and it allows DJs to mix, beat-match, and cue a variety of digital audio file formats, including MP3, AIFF, WAV, WMA and AAC. The software can be controlled via a mouse, keyboard, MIDI controller, or control vinyl/CDs. Torq will also organize digital media files into a searchable database, and it supports the VST format for effects plugins.
