< a href="http://www.mcetech.com">MCE Technologies, LLC announced late Wednesday a price reduction on its 8X DVD-Recordable slot-loading internal SuperDrive upgrades.
The SuperDrive upgrade for all PowerBook G4 model and Power Mac G4 Cube systems that currently have a SuperDrive or CD-R/RW-DVD-ROM combo drive) has been been lowered from US$299 to $249. Pricing for PowerBook G4 15-inch Titanium or Cube systems that currently have a DVD-ROM or CD-ROM only drive has been reduced to $279 from $349.
The new drive writes to standard DVD-R and DVD+R media at up to 8X speed, to standard DVD-/+RW media at 4X speed, and to 8.5GB DVD+R DL media at 2.4X speed.
