MacGameStore.com Hits 1,000 Sales in Two Weeks

MacGameStore.com, which is part of the Inside Mac Games (IMG) news and reviews Web site, announced on Wednesday that it has reached the 1,000 unit sales mark in its first two weeks of business. Tuncer Deniz, IMGis Editor-in-Chief, said in a statement that the previous incarnation of the store took three months to reach the same milestone. "Mac gamers have grown tired of shopping at stores where they are treated like second-class citizens," he said in the press release. "We even have live help via iChat to provide instant feedback to Mac gamers who have questions."

The success may be due in part to evidence that Mac sales have increased in recent months, thanks to the introduction of the G5 iMac and Mac mini as well as the so-called "halo effect" created by the iPodis ever-increasing sales numbers. Deniz said that the new store will soon add peripherals, such as mice, joysticks and gamepads, to its product offerings. Through May 13, consumers who purchase three or more games from the store will receive Aspyr Mediais Star Wars: Jedi Knight: Jedi Academy for free. They need to use the coupon code "jedi" in their shopping carts.
