Mac DJ Software Receives Update, New Features

Fidelity Media has updated their Mac DJ software, MegaSeg, to version 2.0. MegaSeg provides a host of mixing and transition features to allows DJs to easily create music mixes. MegaSeg also includes a complete library and search system providing easy access to all of a DJis tunes. According to Fidelity Media:

Real-time beat mixing is MegaSeg 2.0is headline feature. The new mixer interface allows users to mix using automatic or manual cross-fades. An Auto Beat Match button adjusts the next songis pitch to match the tempo of the current song. Multiple sound output devices are fully supported, for independent main output and headphone cue monitoring, including USB solutions like the Griffin iMic, Roland UA-30, or PowerBook cards such as Digigramis VXPocket for professional balanced XLR outputs. Beat mixing can also be accomplished using a single stereo output by splitting the left and right channels into two mono channels.

In addition to the new mixing features, MegaSeg 2.0 has an improved interface, with a new Request List function for noting requests, among 50 other improvements. Video is also supported in MegaSeg using Appleis QuickTime technology, including full screen playback on a video projector or monitor via a PowerBookis S-Video output. DJis can entertain the crowd with Flash animations and QuickTime music videos downloaded from the Net. Using Appleis free iMovie, you can digitize and compress videos into small files that work like a charm in MegaSeg.
