Mac OS X 10.4.10 Audio Problem Surfaces

· by · News

One of the side effects of upgrading to Mac OS X 10.4.10 has been a persistent, intermittent audio "pop." It doesnit happen on all systems, but for those who find it annoying, MacFixIt had some suggestions on Monday.

One work around is somewhat technical and involves reverting to a Mac OS X 10.4.9 kernel extension. For those who donit want to do that, itis been found that keeping an audio process going, but turning the volume down, prevents what appears to be a possible power saving feature.

The click is definitely annoying, and this reporter is observing it on a MacBook Pro, C2D. Another strategy may be to just wait for an update from Apple. Itis probably driving a lot of Apple people crazy too.
