Macromedia Updates Flash MX 2004

Macromedia, Inc. has released an update of Flash MX with more than 120 bug fixes and additions, improved performance and stability, enhanced documentation, and more efficient use of system resources.

Flash MX 2004 version 7.2 is available for download from the companyis Web site. The upgrade to the companyis multimedia authoring tool offers more than 120 bug fixes and improvements, including more efficient use of system resources, better performance and stability, improved help documentation and more, the company said.

Macromedia said the update also increases developer productivity by reducing initial launch and compile times.

Version 7.2 is available as a free download for current Flash MX 2004 and Flash MX Professional 2004 owners. The full version is US$499 or $199 as an upgrade from a previous version. The professional edition, which features video capabilities and more, is an additional $200.

Macromedia also noted that, as of this release, Flash MX 2004 no longer supports Mac OS X v10.2.5 or lower and now requires Mac OS X v10.2.8 or v10.3.4.
