MainConcept To Demo H.264 Encoder At IBC This Week

MainConcept AG has announced demonstrations of the companyis H.264 encoder at this weekis IBC Broadcasting Fair in Amsterdam. H.264 is a newly developed video codec designed to replace the standard encoding such as MPEG-2 with improved compression rates and quality. According to MainConcept AG:

MainConcept AG will present H.264 at the IBC Broadcasting Fair. As one of the first companies MainConcept is optimizing the H.264 standard by means of several algorithms. The solution is available for home PC’s as well as realtime DSP based versions. Additionally, a W-LAN solution will be shown for the very first time, which makes video data from a PC accessible on the TV.

This presentation will take place at the RAI congress center in Amsterdam from 10 – 14 September, 2004.

MainConcept AG has proven itself as a specialist in the development of codec technologies and video applications. This, following the new H.264 AVC (Advanced Video Coding) standard, also known as MPEG-4 Part 10, is poised to be a major video standard as it can replace several popular formats while offering significant advantages over them. In addition, the newest version of H.264 AVC features extraordinary quality improvement and offers significantly faster encoding and decoding speeds. Among those branches being able to profit from this breakthrough are: high-end broadcasting, HD-DVD, Distribution, Archiving, video editing, computing, mobile communication and all branches involving video production!
