Make Searching Disks Easier

· by Kyle D\'Addario · News

Mike Yenco has updated his disk catalog and search utility, Archive for Mac, to version 4.6. Archive creates an index/catalog of any disk and allows quick, easy, and powerful searches and can produce complete and even "annotated" results. According to Mr. Yenco:

We are pleased to announce the release of Archive 4.6. Archive enables you to quickly catalog your disks and then when you need to find a file, just type in what you are looking for and it will return a list of all files that match your search criteria, what disks the files can be found on, and even detailed information about the files. No more time-wasting disk shuffle. Itis fast! Itis simple! Itis compatible with Mac OS 9 and the Mac OS X Classic Environment. The new version features:

  • Welcome window updated with new shortcut to the software update feature (registered users only)
  • Minor status window update problem corrected
  • New preferences window to enable/disable assistant
  • Splash screen appearance and links updated
  • Improved preference file handling
  • New 32-bit and Mac OS X large icon added
  • New interface icons
  • New context-aware help system using Apple Help Viewer
