Marathon Computer Announces New 12U Server Rack

Marathon Computer has announced a new server rack ideal for smaller spaces where a full-sized rackmount cabinet just isnit practical. The 12U unit features steel construction, a smoked glass locking door, and casters for easy mobility. The unit can hold up to twelve Apple Xserves, or two side-by-side Power Mac G5s. From Marathon Computer:

Marathon Computer announces a new enclosed equipment rack, suitable for office workgroup or machine room.

"We wanted to give people enough room for their G5s and Xserves," said Marathon spokesman, David Soch, "but in an equipment rack that is small enough to use in an office workgroup setting."

Marathonis new 12U rack cabinet does both. The enclosure is deep enough for Appleis Xserve, with adjustable-depth support rails. The cabinet is short enough to fit under most countertops, yet still allows two G5 Power Macs to fit standing upright.

The smoked glass front door allows quick and easy visual check of status lights, and locks down to control access to servers. The case features flow-through ventilation (top & bottom and front & back) and removable bottom panels for cable management. Side panels can be removed for easy installation.

Four full-swivel casters make this cabinet easy to move around in tight places.
