Micronet announced the immediate availability of its PlatinumNAS high-speed networked storage device on Tuesday. The PlatinumNAS includes two gigabit Ethernet ports, four hot-swappable SATA hard drive bays, and supports up to 2TB of storage. It can be configured as RAID level 0, 1, 10, and 5, includes its own RAID controller, and is small enough to fit on your desktop. The PlatinumNAS is Mac, Linux, and Windows compatible and has a built-in Web-based interface for setup and configuration.
The PlatinumNAS is priced at US$1,499 for the 1TB model, $2,299 for the 1.6TB model, and $2,999 for the 2TB model.
