Microsoft Like "A Sack Of Bile?" Novell Thinks So

Have you ever given consideration to the highly coincidental similarities between Microsoftis Windows operating system and your very own gall bladder? The Register is reporting that Novell senior editor Thom Duncan has, and has come to the obvious and clear conclusion that Windows is just about as worthwhile as the unneeded organ.

In a posting at the Novell web site, Mr. Duncan goes into entertainingly graphic detail as to the form, function, and usefulness of the gall bladder just days before surgery to remove the troublesome organ. Just about the only advantage we see Windows having is that a person does not need to be cut open to remove it. According to Mr. Duncan:

What does the gall bladder do? No one knows for sure. The same with Windows: is it an operating system, or a graphical interface? Every new body comes with one already installed. So does Windows.

Maybe some details on exactly what the gall bladder does can help you to see my point. The gall bladder shares a common path between the liver and the stomach. The liver produces bile and sends it along this pathway to the stomach, which uses it in digestion. The gall bladder manages to collect some of that bile and ... well ... it just sort of collects it. The gall bladder doesnit break down the bile into coarser elements; it doesnit add any value to the bile. It just sort of collects it. Itis a holding station for intestinal juices. When itis removed, the body works perfectly fine without it.
