Music Notation App NotePad 2007 Gets Universal Update

MakeMusic on Wednesday issued a Universal Binary update to its free music notation software, Finale NotePad 2007. The developer also included speed and redraw improvements as well as full compatibility with Finale 2007, so that the software can now read any file created by that companion application.

NotePad features over 128 professional-grade sounds from the MakeMusicis SmartMusic practice system, ensuring consistent playback between users of NotePad and Finale. Users can employ NotePad to set up a music score and enter clefs, time signatures, key signatures, notes, rests, lyrics, markings and musical instructions. The application automatically does the work of the engraver, arranging the many elements on the page.

NotePad 2007 requires a G4 or Intel processor, Mac OS X v10.3.9, a display with 800 x 600 resolution, 256MB RAM, and 50MB hard drive space.
