NetNewWire Updated With Several Bug Fixes

Ranchero Software has released an update for NetNewsWire, bringing it to version 1.0.5. NetNewWire is a utility designed for automated Internet news harvesting. The update features several bug fixes and a new link option. According to Ranchero Software:

Ranchero Software is pleased to announce the release of a new version of the award-winning NetNewsWire, the easy-to-use RSS Web newsreader for Mac OS X.

NetNewsWire 1.0.5 fixes several bugs. The most important of these is to no longer share cookies with Safari, which eliminates a set of crashes and hangs reported by some users.

The RSS parser has been improved to handle some feeds it couldn’t read before, and a number of user interface bugs and glitches have been fixed.

There’s just one new feature, the ability to prefer permalinks to external links when doing an open-in-browser on a headline.

You can find more information about the NetNewsWire update at the Ranchero Software Web site. NetNewsWire 1.0.5 is free for registered users, while the full version is available for US$39.95.
