Epson America, Inc. announced Monday two new lighter, sleeker and brighter LCD projectors.

The new projectors, the PowerLite 740c and PowerLite 745c, measure 7.6 x 10.9 x 2.7 inches and weigh 3.8 and 3.9 pounds respectively. Other features include 1,024 x 768 resolution, 2,500-ANSI lumens brightness, a 1.2x optical zoom lens, seven second warmup and 20 second shutdown.

Both models have similar features, but the 745c adds internal IEEE 802.11g wireless networking connectivity and compatible with Appleis Keynote presentation software. It features support for Ciscois LEAP authentication protocol, as well as Wired Equivalent Privacy (WEP) and Wi-Fi Protected Access (WPA) protocols.

The projector can also run PowerPoint presentations, JPEG photo slideshows and MPEG-2 videos independently of a computer using built-in PCMCIA and USB interfaces.

The 740c and 745c are expected to be available in September for US$2,699 and $2,899 respectively.
