New FireWire G-Drive Announced

G-Technology Inc. introduced Monday the G-Drive, a new line of high-performance FireWire 400/800 and USB 2.0 external hard drives.

The G-Drive will be available in three configurations, each with 160GB, 250GB or 400GB of storage. The G-Drive FW offers two FireWire 800 ports and one FireWire 400 port, the G-Drive Combo comes with two FireWire 400 ports and one USB 2.0 port, and the G-Drive USB includes one USB 2.0 port.

The G-Drive also features a fan-less cooling system that dissipates heat without noise, an 8 megabyte cache and 7200RPM disk speed.

Prices will start at US$169. The drive will be available in December.
