New Troops Being Trained For Server Duty

Intelli Innovations is preparing to update their server monitoring software, Server Sentinel, to version 2..0. The final version is not expected until August, but a public beta "previewi" version is available now. Server Sentinel allows is able to automatically maintain a server by running scripts, scheduling events, and handling failures. According to Intelli Innovations:

Intelli Innovations, Inc., developers of innovative Internet and productivity solutions for the Macintosh platform, today announced Server Sentinel 2 Preview for Macintosh. Sentinel will check your servers at specified intervals, and then run events if a server check fails like e-mailing or paging you, running AppleScripts, opening applications locally or over networks, resetting crashed computers, and much more. So donit worry - your systems will stay up without you.

Sentinel 2 now features new failure and recovery events, advanced failure event scripting, ICMP ping support, automatic log export (text or HTML), support for Kickoff! and Rebound! from Sophisticated Circuits, and lots of other minor improvments. Sentinel 2 has been rewritten from the ground up to offer extended functionality in all key areas.

Pricing information will be available soon. However, registered users of previous versions will be able to upgrade to version 2.0 for free. You can find more information at the Intelli Innovations web site.
