NitroAV Announces SATA II PCIe Card

NitroAV announced Friday the SATAStar Plus, a SATA II host adapter for Macs (and PCs) with PCIe slots. The card is a four-port host adapter, and utilizes the Silicon Image 3132 chipset. The company claims read speeds of 295Mb/sec and write speeds of 301 Mb/sec sustained with a 4-drive Striped RAID.

The NitroAV SATAStar Plus works with 4x, 8x, and 16x PCIe slots, and supports 10-bit uncompressed HD, 8-bit uncompressed HD, DV, HDV, DVPRO HD, 8-bit and 10-bit SD video workflow. It works with Mac OS X 10.3.x or later, Windows 2000 ,XP, XP 64-bits, Vista, Linux 32-bit, Linux 64-bit and 2003 Server.

The card is priced at US$129.95, and is available now from the NitroAV Web site.
