No Keynote for Apple Expo Paris

· by · News

The Apple Expo in Paris will kick off without a keynote address this year. According to Macworld UK, the decision did not come from Reed Expositions France, the company that is organizing the event.

In prior years, Steve Jobs has presented a keynote speech at the event. In 2004, however, Phil Schiller gave the presentation while Mr. Jobs was recovering from cancer surgery. Mr. Jobs did not present at the 2005 expo, either.

Itis unclear if Appleis executives arenit giving a keynote because of Franceis recent legislation designed to open competing digital rights management technologies so that all music download services are compatible with any MP3 player, or if the company simply doesnit have any new product announcements scheduled for that time. Apple will, however, be present at the expo.

Apple Expo Paris is scheduled to run from September 12 through September 16.
