Not Number One, But Apple Still Strong

After last weekis traffic spike generated from MACWORLD, the Apple web site saw fewer visitors and as a result dropped from the number one spot in the PC Data Top 10 Hardware Sites list. Both Dell and Compaq leapfrogged Apple, even though our favorite computer maker still saw over 1 million visitors to its site. This week represents nearly a 50% decrease for traffic to the Apple.com domain compared to last week, but it seems as if people have had their fill of product announcements and might just be a bit "Appled out." The top 8 spots on the list were held by the same big names as last week, with some position shuffling among "The Big 6" computer makers (Dell, Compaq, Apple, HP, Gateway, and IBM). The two big hardware resellers had strong outings, with Googlegear and Egghead maintaining their Top 10 status. New to the list this week is chip maker AMD, and the power back-up company APC.
