Appleis Power Mac G5 (June 2004) Firmware Update 5.1.8f7 improves system stability in Appleis first generation of G5 systems. It requires Mac OS X 10.3.5 or newer.

Mathematica 5.1 adds a number of new features to professional statistical software. "Our release numbering tends to be rather understated. Timbuktu Pro 7.0.4 corrects a problem that could cause the software for remotely controlling other Macs to crash. It sells for $179.95 in a twin-pack.

DAVE 5.1 adds support for the latest Microsoft and Apple OS releases, user drop boxes, Symbolic Links, and improved client write performance. DAVE is an application that allows Macs to easy network and share files and printers with Windows users. It sells for $119.00.
