Now Software Helps Nationwide Photo Project

Now Software, makers of the calendar and contact manager Now Up-to-Date & Contact, has announced its official sponsorship in the production of this yearis America 24/7 project.

America 24/7, the largest collaborative photo project in history, photographed American life over a seven day period to create a multitude of books and other media.

The people responsible for the best-selling Day in the Life anthologies used Now Up-to-Date & Contact to coordinate over 1,000 top photojournalists working all over the country. The ultimate goal is to produce 53 different photography books, a television documentary, a Web site and a traveling exhibition.

?Orchestrating the production of 53 books and keeping the project schedules current requires the capabilities of an exceptional piece of technology. Now Up-to-Date & Contact fits that bill,? said Rick Smolan, project director ofAmerica24/7. ?Not only is Now Up-to-Date & Contact easy to use, but also its cross-platform capability allows both Windows and Macintosh users to communicate. Now Up-to-Date & Contact even lets people sync with their PDAs, which is essential for individuals on the move.?

Now Software donated $20,000 in software to the project for both practical use and for prize packages given to the 53 photographers chosen to have their pictures on the various project book covers.
