OWC Launches Blu-ray Drives for Macs and PCs

Other World Computing (OWC) announced on Thursday the immediate availability of both internal and external Blu-ray drives for Mac and PC. The internal drives utilize the IDE/ATAPI bay port, and the external drives utilize FireWire or USB 2.

Blu-ray offers up to 50 GB storage per disc. These drives will also write to DVD, DVD-RAM, and CD.

These drives feature:

  • Burn up to 50 GB of data or high-definition video per Blu-ray disc or up to 8.5 GB using standard DVDs.
  • True Plug & Play
  • Supports FireWire and USB 2.0 (USB 1.1 backwards compatible) ports
  • Includes two 25 GB Blu-ray media discs
  • Available with full retail version of Toast 8 DVD/CD Authoring software.
