There are lots of great articles, and some really bad ones, on the Internet. Though we link to all of them at MacOS News Around The Web, some of them deserve special mention here. Most of what we will mention within these pages will be among the best, but on occasion we will talk about articles that are so bad or so wrong we just have to say something. Consider them mini-editorials on our part about things we think you might also be interested in.

Best [1:30 PM] Macworld Magazine: The Game Room: Cheaters Sometimes Prosper
Andy Ihnatko sounds off on cheating in gaming, especially Internet gaming. He suggests that this is lame (Hear! Hear!) and that it could have a negative impact on the future of gaming. He backs this up with examples of modern cheating, and writes in his usual funny style. Our favorite quote from this piece (though one of the less important ones):

The poor five-year-old who has logged on to Parker Brothersi Web site just to play NetCandyLand has no idea sheis competing against college CompSci majors whoive written CandyBots to crush her in three moves--and who are blowing off classes so they can create a new version that can do it in two.

A very good read that we wish every cheater on the planet would read. After all, if you have to cheat to win, how can you take any pleasure in winning?!? Thatis the thrust of Mr. Ihnatkois piece though. Reviewer - Bryan Chaffin

Best [1:30 PM] Low End Mac: The Rumor Mill - The OS X on Alpha Project
This gets our Tee Hee Hee Award for the day. Anee Onymous has the "scoop" on Appleis plans to port Mac OS X to the Alpha processor. This is simply the most brilliant piece from "Anne" yet and has the TMO staff in stitches. Our favorite Quote from this piece:

Thatis when he told me about the other one heis got. Itis a much newer server, with four 750 MHz Alpha chips. I wanted to see it in action, but he said it was in some execis office while they evaluated it. "I canit tell you who, but Iill give you a clue: it takes a lot of fans to cool four Alpha chips, and he keeps on bitching about the noise they make."

Awesome, Satire at itis best. Reviewer - Bryan Chaffin
