Old Jewel Shipping New OS X Color Picker

Old Jewel Software is shipping a new app for Mac users, Painteris Picker 1.0. Painteris Picker is a utility designed to expand OS Xis standard color picking panel. The app features support for expanded decimal places and several menu options. According to Old Jewel Software:

Painteris Picker is an extension to the color picker panel in Mac OS X. It adds the ability to choose related colors, such as complementary colors, analogous colors, etc. directly within the color picker. It also adds more precise controls for choosing saturation, hue angle, and brightness, and provides the ability to choose colors in the CMYK color space while using the popular HSB-style controls.

Changes in Painteris Picker version 1.0 include:

  • The brightness, hue angle, and saturation fields now allow for up to 2 decimal places of precision
  • Added a contextual menu to the hue angle slider for quick access to some common colors
  • Added a contextual menu to the color well for quick access to the different schemes
  • Added a contextual menu to the brightness slider and saturation slider to make selection of specific values easier
