| Games

Sports Interactive this week released Out of the Park Baseball 2006 for Mac and Windows, enabling gamers to recreate any baseball season from 1900 to the present as well as create their own fictional leagues. They can manage every aspect of their teams, from drafting and trading players to making decisions during baseball games. They can also play multiple seasons, drafting new players each year and allowing older ones to retire, with the ability to elect the elite to the Hall of Fame.

SI didnit obtain a Major League Baseball license for OOTP 2006, however, so gamers will have to import a freeware database in .csv format in order to use real Major League Baseball players. Pricing is US$34.99. Mac OS X v10.3.9, a 1GHz G4 processor, and 256MB of RAM are required for PowerPC Mac owners, while those with Intel machines will need Mac OS X v10.4.4, a 1.8GHz processor, and 256MB RAM. Mac OS X v10.4.5, a 2GHz processor, and 512MB RAM are recommended for PowerPC- or Intel-based Macs.

Players can follow the action on a pitch-by-pitch or batter-by-batter basis
