· by Brad Gibson · News

Pangea Software released Thursday Pangea Payroll, a freeware payroll processing application, along with its source code.

The new application is designed to help small businesses track federal payroll tax payments for their employees and has been released as beta software. As beta, the company does not gauarantee the accuracy of the software to do tasks and strongly recommends verify their verify calculations with an accountant.

"It started out as an in-house tool, but it?s such a useful thing to have that the decision was made to release it publicly as freeware, and to include the source code with the download," the developer, who is better known for Mac games, said.

Also included with Pangea Payroll is the Xcode source code that was used to write the application.
