Parliant Debuts PhoneValet Anywhere, PhoneValet Podcast Bundle

July 10th, 2005 at 3:00 PM - Macworld Expo by Brad Cook

Parliant on Monday kicked off its presence at Macworld Boston with the introduction of PhoneValet Anywhere, an extension for PhoneValet Message Center 3.0 that enables users to remotely access messages, reports, call logs and phone book information through an Internet connection. The company also debuted its PhoneValet Podcast bundle, which includes SoundSoap and Peak Express. Also The Mac Observer posted this article, product pages were not yet available on the Parliant Web site.

PhoneValet Anywhere works with any Web browser, allowing users to not only access PhoneValet Message Center to search call records but even view the identity of a current caller in real time. The software also announces incoming calls. Pricing is US$79.95, which includes a two-user license. Additional licenses are $19.95 each.

PhoneValet Message Center 3.0 includes custom ring tones that can tell the user who is calling, call blocking, individualized voice-mail greetings and better Spotlight searching in Mac OS X v10.4 "Tiger." It costs $199.95 and is required for anyone who wants to use PhoneValet Anywhere. PhoneValet 2.x users can upgrade for $29.95 per phone line.

Finally, Parliantis PhoneValet Podcast bundle includes not only the full PhoneValet Message Center 3.0 hardware and software package but also the VST edition of SoundSoap 2 and Peak Express, both from BIAS Inc. The bundle costs $249.95, or $74.95 as an upgrade for existing PhoneValet Message Center 3.0 customers.

SoundSoap 2 eliminates hiss, clicks, hum and other unwanted noise from recordings. A Preserve Voice button cuts down on sounds that fall outside the range of the human voice while the Noise Only mode allows the user to hear noise being removed so they know nothing they want has been eliminated. Peak Express is an audio editor that supports AIFF, WAV, QuickTime, Dual Mono, Apple Lossless and other formats. Both applications are normally $99 each from BIAS.
