Pixelmator Team Announces GPU-based Image Editor

Pixelmator Team announced its new digital image editing application Pixelmator 1.0 on Wednesday. Pixelmator is designed to take advantage of Core Image, OpenGL, and your Macis built-in graphics card for image rendering and effects.

The Universal Binary application will offer layers-based image editing, selection, painting, retouching, and color correction tools, color management, automation, and more. It also will support Automator workflows and can access to your iPhoto library.

Pixelmator 1.0 will be available in late June for US$59. Additional information is available at the Pixelmator Web site.
