Precision Recall Extends Spotlight Searches

Agent Software on Tuesday released Precision Recall, a utility that complements Mac OS X v10.4 Tigeris Spotlight searching functionality as well as Google and other search engines. It uses federated search to retrieve integrated results from multiple locations, both internal and external.

Precision Recall organizes results into relevant groups and dynamically creates virtual folders containing content. Users can personalize the results by editing, annotating and rating them, which helps keep searches connected under specific topic views.

Agent Software said that it is working on plug-ins for RSS feeds, subscription sources and other search tools. Pricing for Precision Recall starts at US$99 per user, with discounts available for government, education and non-profit organizations. Tiger is required, of course; a Windows version is due in the first quarter of 2006.
