Product Design App Comes to the Mac, Thanks to Apple Buy

· by · News

UGS Corp. is bringing its NX and Teamcenter product development and lifecycle management applications to Mac OS X, and part of the credit for that move is apparently due to Apple, who committed to purchasing "a significant number" of NX licenses, according to ThinkSecret. The Web site noted that Apple already has NX in use on UNIX workstations.

In its Wednesday announcement, UGS said that both applications will run on Mac OS X v10.4 "Tiger," with support for PowerPC-based Macs ready now for NX users. Support for Intel-based Macs will come in a later NX release. Teamcenter will come to Mac OS X in 2007.
