Propellerhead Discusses Plans for Intel Support

Propellerhead Software told its customers this week that while it has yet to release Universal Binaries of its software, it is "still fully committed to the Mac OS platform," according to an article at MacCentral. The company said that Reason will run under the Rosetta emulation layer, but "performance loss is similar to running Reason on a G3."

Propellerhead added: ReCycle runs fine in Rosetta, with no measurable performance issues; and ReWire works, as long as all applications in the session are PowerPC-based." Jim Dalrymple reported that the company said "performance might be better on the shipping Intel Macs but they havenit been able to test this yet." Their feedback came from using the Developer Transition Kits supplied by Apple last year.
