QualityMac has released a new app for Mac users, SoftwareWatch 1.0. SoftwareWatch is utility designed for tracking a users latest software updates. The app features the Software Information Format (SIF) for downloading. According to QualityMac:
QualityMac today announced the release of SoftwareWatch 1.0 for the Mac. SoftwareWatch uses SIF (Software Information Format) to track your favourite software.
SoftwareWatch has a friendly GUI similar to Software Update so users will feel comfortable using it. The user just needs to type in the URL to a SIF feed and SoftwareWatch will automatically track all of itis updates.
The Software Information Format (SIF) to automatically keep up-to-date with the accepted submissions. SIF is an XML document that holds all the needed information for an application. This document can be tracked by users, and even submitted to some software download Websites.
