Quark, best know for its QuarkXPress page layout software, announced on Wednesday that Raymond Schiavone has joined the company as President and CEO. Mr. Schiavone is taking over the helm from acting President Linda Chase. She will continue on in her roll as Senior Vice President of Enterprise Products.
Mr. Schiavone has a long history in the software and publishing industries. He comes from Arbortext, a company that produces XML-based authoring and automated publishing software. He served as President and CEO of that company and was awarded the Ernst & Young Entrepreneur of the Year Award.
Prior to Arbortext, he was President of the publishing venture TPN Register. He also worked for GE, where served in various leadership rolls over a 14-year tenure.
Raymond Schiavoneis appointment as Quarkis President and CEO marks the companyis continuing effort to strengthen itself and rebuild its image in the graphics and publishing communities.
