QuickBooks Pro 2007 For Mac Offers Intel Support, More

Intuit has announced QuickBooks Pro 2007 for Mac, which features support for Intel processors, a new Layout Designer, tools for creating and printing deposit slips, a new Tutorial Center, and more. The Layout Designer lets users create templates for invoices, estimates, purchase orders, and other files, with the ability to control logo and text placement, border formats, and colors. Templates created with previous versions of the software can be used in QuickBooks Pro 2007 but not edited.

Other new tools include the ability to record deposits and cash back in a single step and the ability to apply single payments to multiple jobs in a more streamlined process. Improvements include customizing the toolbar for accessing tasks with one click, better sharing of data with Windows users, a more comprehensive help feature, and easier importing of data from previous versions.

The new software will be available in mid-October. Pricing will be US$199.95. QuickBooks Pro 2007 will require a G3, G4, G5 or Intel processor (G4 or better recommended), Mac OS X v10.4.7, 256MB RAM, 100MB free hard drive space, and 1024 x 768 display resolution (1280 x 854 recommended). Excel integration requires Excel X or 2004 and e-mail functions require Apple Mail 1.3.11 or 2.0.7, Entourage X or 2004, or Eudora 6.2.3.
