QuickerTek Announces Low Cost Wi-Fi Adapters

QuickerTek announced the immediate availability of five new Mac-compatible Wi-Fi adapters on Thursday. All are priced below US$100, and are 802.11b and 802.11g compatible. Most also support 802.11n, too.

The Nano USB and nNano USB are dongle-sized USB Wi-Fi adapters that are compatible with the PowerBook, iBook, iMac, MacBook, and MacBook Pro. Both use the computeris built-in antennas, so no additional hardware is required. The Nano USB supports 802.11b and g, and is priced at US$49.95. The nNano USB supports 802.11b, g, and n, and costs $59.95.

The new nQuicky PCI and nQuicky PCMCIA support 802.11b, g, and n wireless networks. The PCI version includes an external tri-band antenna, and is compatible with the Power Mac G3, G4, and non-DDR2 memory G5 models. The PCMCIA CardBus version is compatible with PowerPC-based Macs that have an open CardBus slot. The PCI version costs $99.95, and the PCMCIA CardBus version is priced at $59.95.

QuickerTekis b/g Quicky CardBus supports 802.11b and 802.11g wireless networks, and is compatible with PCMCIA-equipped PowerBooks. It is priced at US$49.95.
