QuickerTek on Monday introduced new transceivers for use with PowerBooks and iBooks. The company said that the new high-power transceivers can access wireless networks from a mile away. They provide 500mW/27bDm of power and sell for US$200 each.
The transceivers clip to a laptop and connect through its AirPort card, boosting wireless reception. They can be powered through a FireWire port or with a power outlet, thanks to the included power converter. The transceivers are compatible with all 12- and 14-inch iBooks as well as 15-inch Titanium and Aluminum PowerBooks and 17-inch Aluminum PowerBooks.
