Realmac Software Releases RapidWeaver 3.6

· by · News

Realmac Software released RapidWeaver 3.6 on Thursday. The new version now has a snippet manager for frequently used code, a richer Blogging engine and more.

The new version also makes customizing themes easier by adding color and layout control, dispensing with hand-code HTML and CSS. Six new themes have been included as well. In addition, the Flash slideshow function has been completely rewritten and now provides different transitions, background audio, and the Ken Burns effect.

RapidWeaver is one of the next generation GUI-based Website and Blogsite development programs. Instead of designing from scratch with HTML, the designer can start with pre-built themes and customize with a GUI interface. However, the user can also hand-edit the HTML code that is created if desired.

Realmac Software also unveiled a brand new Website on Thursday. The new site is aimed at making the RapidWeaver community even stronger by introducing an Add-ons section where users can search for themes, plugins and code snippets, as well as subscribe to the Realmac RSS feeds to keep up to date.

Rapid Weaver 3.6 is a Universal Application and requires Mac OS X 10.4.3 or later. The upgrade is US$25, and for new users it is priced at US$49. A free trial copy is available.
