Revolabs demonstrates xTag Wireless Microphone System

· by · Conferences

ONTARIO, CA -- At this weekis Podcast and New Media Expo, Revolabs was showing their new xTag Wireless Microphone System. Daryl Nishimiya, Regional Sales Manager, gave us an overview of the system.

xTag Wireless Microphone System

The system consists of two components, the microphone and the charger/base. Unlike some other devices, they communicate using the 1.92 to 1.93 GHz digital spread spectrum band, which reduces interference from other RF devices. The audio data is also encrypted with a proprietary 128-bit algorithm, so you donit have to worry about others eavesdropping on your conversation. The range between the base and the microphone is about 65 feet, and thereis an out-of-range alarm to warn you if you get too far away.

The microphone can charge in 2 hours, and offers up to 8 hours of talk time. The bandwidth of the audio is 100-6800 Hz, which should be sufficient for many voice applications. The base, which plugs into your computeris USB port, can also transmit audio to the microphone, so you can use audio chat programs such as iChat or Skype.

The xTag is available now and is priced at US$250.
