Laptop bag maker RoadWired has introduced a new collection of laptop bags and sleeves, starting at US$99.95.
The Skooba Satchel (see photo below) has more than a dozen compartments and pockets and an inner lining made of patented Air Square material, a heavy-duty, bubble wrap-like laminate designed to cushion the computer. The laptop compartment itself is secured by a retention strap with quick-release closure, adjustable to securely accommodate portable computers of almost any size, including the 17-inch Apple PowerBook.
The Skooba Satchel is made of tough ballistic nylon and comes in four color combinations: black with blue trim, gray with orange trim, olive with red trim, and tan with black trim. The satchel retail for US$99.95.
Also available in the collection are Skooba Sleeves, in large and compact sizes costing $69.95 and $59.95, respectively. These ultra-slim laptop carriers can be used to protect the computer inside another bag or suitcase, or carried on their own with included shoulder straps. They are available in the same colors as the Skooba Satchel.
The Skooba Strap -- the same shoulder strap and pad found on the Satchels -- is also available separately, as an accessory or upgrade for other bags, for $17.95.
