Second MacGathering Expo Opens in Southern CA

The second annual MacGathering kicks off on Friday with a free three-hour seminar on using Virtual PC and Entourage as well as all-day classes that teach FileMaker Pro and Corel Painter basics. At 10:00 AM on Saturday, the exhibit hall opens for two days. It includes booths manned by representatives from Appleis store at The Grove, DriveSavers, Elgato Systems, FileMaker Inc., Final Draft and other companies.

More than 32 seminars -- approximately half of them aimed at a cross-platform audience -- will also happen on Saturday and Sunday, teaching everything from introductory topics to curricula aimed at professional and power users. On Sunday afternoon, comedian Sinbad -- an AppleMaster and frequent Macworld Expo attendee -- will deliver the keynote address after an introduction by storyteller Michael D. McCarty.

MacGathering will be held at Beverly Garlandis Holiday Inn in North Hollywood. Exhibits-only passes are US$10, $15 at the door, while two- and one-day seminar passes are $65 and $40 in advance, or $75 and $50 at the door. Up to three children under the age of 12 per adult will be admitted free. The FileMaker Pro and Corel Painter sessions on Friday are $199 each.
