SmoothType Updated To 2.3.1

Greg Landweber has released an update for SmoothType, bringing it to version 2.3.1. SmoothType is a Classic control panel designed for emulating the style font smoothing found in OS X. The update features improved multiple user performance. According to Greg Landweber:

Greg Landweber, author of Kaleidoscope, Power Windows, and Gregis Browser, is pleased to announce the release of SmoothType 2.3.1.

SmoothType is a shareware control panel that brings Mac OS X style font smoothing to Macs running System 7 through Mac OS 9.2. Under Mac OS X, SmoothType gives Classic applications text that looks just as good as (or even better than) in Carbon and Cocoa applications.

Version 2.3.1 fixes a problem drawing smoothed text after switching accounts under Multiple Users. Version 2.3 introduced subpixel smoothing optimized for LCD (flat panel) screens.

You can find more information about the SmoothType update at the Greg Landweber Web site. SmoothType 2.3.1 is available for US$10.00.
