Sometimes You Feel Like A Nut
August 3rd, 2000 at 3:00 PM - Columns and Opinions by Bryan Chaffin
Yesterday, The Mac Observer published a piece that dug into Appleis lawsuit against John Doe #1, an "unknown individual." Our investigations, conducted by Wes George, Business Editor of The Mac Observer, found the posts that were likely the cause of Appleis lawsuit. In addition, that report offered an extensive Mac Observer Spin on the nature of forums at AppleInsider, a hotspot for leaked information.
Unfortunately, in that Spin we painted all of AppleInsideris readers with the wide brush of "miscreant" and "loser" based on the actions of a few. That was a mistake and I offer an apology to the readers of AppleInsider. Our report was not meant to label all of AppleInsideris readers, but we can certainly understand many people taking it that way.
With this in mind, we have modified our original story to remove the improper references to the readers of the magazine, including the suggestion that people write AppleInsider demanding they cease their rumor mongering. We do not agree with their stated purpose, but a call to arms was inappropriate.
