Sony Introduces HDTV/PC with Blu-ray and 802.11n

Sony has introduced an integrated LCD HDTV and PC with Core 2 Duo processor, 2 GB of RAM, a 22 inch LCD screen, read-write Blu-ray, 1.3 megapixel camera, 802.11n Wi-Fi, and Cable Card interface.
The computer, which runs Vista Ultimate, features a floating glass design and serves as a computer entertainment center where users can watch and record analog, digital and cable television programming, including premium HD channels. The screen is described as WSXGA+, which is 1680 x 1050 pixels.

The screen can also be wall mounted with an optional VESA mount. A special A/V power switch allows the user to shut down the TV portion while the PC continues to run in the background. The 1.3 megapixel camera and echo-cancelling microphone can be used for video conferencing on a broadband connection.
The PC bears a remarkable resemblance to the new Appls iMacs. One notable exception is that it can display protected Blu-ray titles directly on the display.
The LT standard model is priced at a starting point of about US$1,900, according to Sony while the LT HD model with a Blu-ray Disc optical drive will be priced at about US$2,900. Shipments will start in October.
