Sony on Tuesday debuted a new DVD burner with speeds up to 8X when burning Double Layer DVD+R discs. The external device connects via FireWire or USB 2.0 and also supports 4X DVD-R DL, 16X DVD+-R, 8X DVD+RW, 6X DVD-RW, 48X CD-R and 32X CD-RW recording speeds.
The DRX-810UL/T will ship next month and include the Mac version of Roxiois Toast 6 Lite. Pricing is US$179.99, with a $30 mail-in rebate available.
