Springboard Module Designers Compete For US$10,000

Xilinx, along with Handspring and Portable Design Magazine, are holding a contest seeking the best design for a Handspring Visor Springboard Module. The Cool Module Design Contest offers a top prize of US$10,000, along with a variety of Handspring products. According to Xilinx:

Xilinx, in association with Handspring and Portable DesignMagazine, today kicked off the "Cool Module" Design Contest. The Cool ModuleDesign Contest offers portable system designers the opportunity to design aSpringboardTM expansion module and compete for a top prize of $10,000, afree HandspringTM VisorTM Platinum, handheld computer, and publication ofthe winning design in Portable Design Magazine. Design entries of proposedSpringboard modules will be accepted through April 30, 2001. The top tenfinalists will be announced on May 14, 2001. Each of the top ten finalistswill receive a Xilinx CoolRunner( CPLD-based prototyping board, provided byInsight Electronics, and a Handspring Visor Platinum).

Finalists must submit working designs by June 30th, 2001. You can find more information on the contest at the Xilinx Web site.
