Steve's Other Job: Monsters, Inc. Holds On As #1 Movie For 2nd Week

When it debuted last week, Pixaris Monsters, Inc. was the #1 movie, breaking a few records in the process (see our full story). The movie grossed about US$20 million less in its second week, but it beat the #2 film, Shallow Hal, soundly to remain in the #1 spot. E! Online reports that the film grossed US$46.2 million, crossing the US$100 million mark in what that publication says is a record nine days. From E! Online:

Monsters, Inc. is now the 14th film to smash the $100 million barrier this year. Reaching that total in a record nine days, the G-rated, computer-animated comedy has grossed an estimated $122.8 million. Its latest per-screen average was $14,133 at 3,269 theaters, a drop off of only 26 percent.
