Steve's Other Job: Pixar Pulls In A Big Earnings Quarter

L ike him or not, Steve Jobs seems to be the right man for the job in, not one, but two separate companies. At Apple, Jobs is leading the charge into the era of OS X, which may turn out to be a Mac renaissance. At Pixar, Mr. Jobsi other job, he is leading the charge to more profitability. According to an article from The Mercury News, "Pixar earnings had a monster quarter:"

Pixar Animation Studios, headed by Apple Computer Chief Executive Steve Jobs, said first-quarter profit rose 89 percent on sales of its latest computer-animated movie, "Monsters, Inc."

Net income rose to $15.6 million, or 30 cents a share, from $8.27 million, or 16 cents, a year earlier, the company said in a statement. The earnings were higher than analystsi forecasts. Revenue more than doubled to $37.1 million from $16.2 million.
